The Jackrabbits won two of their matchups versus the Jayhawks on that trip. SDSU is 4-6 all-time against the Jayhawks having most recently played three games in Lawrence in 2021. Kansas has a 12-8 matching overall record to SDSU this season. The two teams split their matchups with the Cardinal ending SDSU's season in 10 innings by a 2-1 score. The Jackrabbits faced the Cardinal twice in the 2021 NCAA Tournament at the Fayette, Arkansas, regional. Stanford is currently 19-2 overall and is ranked in the top 10 in multiple national rankings including as high as sixth in the D1 Softball poll. The Jacks are 4-2 all-time versus the Sugar Bears who currently have a 14-5 overall record. SDSU recently faced Central Arkansas in the Sugar Bears' home tournament and dropped a 7-6 decision to UCA on Feb. South Dakota State closes the weekend with a 1 p.m. SDSU is scheduled to play two contests on Saturday as the Jacks face Stanford at 10 a.m. on Friday versus Central Arkansas, then take on Stanford at 12:30 p.m. The Jackrabbits will open play at 10 a.m. Due to travel and expected rain conditions, SDSU instead will participate in a four-team tournament featuring Central Arkansas, Stanford and host Kansas at the Jayhawks' Arrocha Ballpark. The Jackrabbits were set to make a trip to San Luis Obispo, Calif., to play in five games in Cal Poly's Mustang Classic followed by a doubleheader at LMU.
The South Dakota State softball team has adjusted its upcoming weekend schedule and is now slated to play five games at the Jayhawk Invitational hosted by Kansas starting on Friday, March 10.
